OPERATIONS & SYSTEMS
Information Technology

Increasingly there is a need for a convergence of Management Technolody and Information Technology. In an information centric world the flow of data throughout the organization is vital. As the complexity of information systems increases it is becoming increasingly common to adapt organizations to systems and not vice versa. Indeed the practice of business process reengineering often deals with ways to mold the organization to it's vital (and difficult to replace) information systems. Increasingly New Management Network consultants are applying their change management skills and techniques to the introduction of new IT systems to integrate the results of business process improvements to the organization.Similarly, we implicitly take information system realities and user information needs into consideration during organization design.

At the New Management Network we approach systems & information processing from a user perspective, not a technological focus. This approach ensures that the user needs drive system analysis and not technical preferences.

We help clients:
• conduct needs analysis, define functional requirements and evaluate alternative systems solutions in specific application areas;
• bring change management techniques to facilitate systems implementation;
• participate in business process re-engineering initiatives throughout the organization;
• define requirements, identify vendors, evaluate commercial software packages and prepare implementation plans;
• assist in the preparation of business cases, cost benefit analysis for the acquistion and implementation of systems;
• act as the user advocate between the technologists and the organization;
• act in a project management capacity during system development and implementation
