Unique Approach

As individuals and as a team, The New Management Network supports clients to position their organizations for immediate and future realities. Members are not committed to promoting a particular approach to management. Rather they analyze each case on its own merits, and through close association with management and staff help develop a customized solution appropriate for that particular situation. This "customized" approach to problem solving and meeting challenges is made possible with the range of capacities of members of The New Management Network.

Certain basic theories and processes are common to Network members, however, which taken together give them an unusual capacity to analyze problems (as opposed to symptoms), define appropriate structures and offer practical solutions. These are unlike "flavour of the month" techniques in that they are analytical, proven over time to be effective and are applied by consultants skilled in their use. Some of these include:

• the Enneagram: for recognizing differences in perceptions as normal and providing discipline to constructively use human resources to make appropriate things happen
• Requisite organization: application of Elliott Jaques theories on appropriate and effective organizational structures to design or restructure organizations to meet current challenges
• Open Space Technology: an effective means of drawing on the expertise and dedication of groups of senior managers, communities and Not-For-Profit organizations to quickly flesh out issues and develop options for action
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS): a means of geographically situating, accessing and analyzing information for decision-making
• Demographic analysis: useful for market analysis, program / needs definition and design
• Economic analysis: viability, feasibility and impact analysis to provide a basis for organizational needs, including organizational design, marketing, strategic planning and resource allocation.
